ADATS
AIR DEFENSE / ANTI TANK SYSTEM

The ADATS is a low altitude self-propelled air defense missile system and also an anti-tank guided missile system. Mounted
on the chassis of a M-113, it uses a missile that is unique to this system. Each missile cost more than 300,000 CAN$!!! This
high cost has pushed the Canadian Armed Forces to use this system uniquely as an air defense weapon. Developed conjointly
by Canada and Switzerland through Oerlikon Aerospace Inc. based in both countries. The ADATS is extremely accurate and effective against both aircraft and tanks. It is mainly used to protect division and
brigade headquarters which moves its position regularly against air attacks.
